Day 1: Introduction to GAETI

Today was an exciting and tiring day. After arriving at the workshop, we were introduced to the creator of GAETI and the staff who will assist with the workshop. We were told the purpose of the grant and all the wonderful things this workshop has to offer educators. I am very committed to using the materials and skills that are being provided and taught at the workshop. I look forward to serving my students better through technology after this intensive training.  To start, today we learned how to utilize the MDE website to access frameworks as well as search job vacancies. Also, we took a tour of campus and we got to learn about the Magnolia website which can be used for research purposes as well as assist with writing lesson plans. I can't wait until tomorrow to see all the wonderful things that are in store for us! Hail State!

  1. Kenya, I was thrilled to see that you attended GAETI this past summer! I was one of the original participants in 2014 and I can tell you, it really changed my way of teaching. I know it was hard to make the decision to give a month of your summer vacation but I am so glad that I did and I'm sure you are, too! I've even helped present at several conferences and attended others since and I will be presenting solo at MECA in Jan/Feb! Little nervous about that! Anyway, I recognized your name and remember your friendly face and that sweet daughter of yours from my time at AHS and just wanted to say "hello" Billie Jean Fulton
